    1. In the prolog three seemingly unrelated people dye of a uniquely fast acting virus. Prepare for gushing blood and more. Our hero, U.S. Army Lt. Col. Jonathan ("Jon") Smith M.D. from USAMRIID, is warned by an old friend to be ware of the Ides of March. Oops I meat that the friend xxx warns him that he is in trouble. Evidently the warning is too little too late to save the love of his life. He spends the rest of the story with the help of some extraordinary friends, tracking down the culprits. All t [...]

    3. I read all of his books long ago in hard cover, the only author i did. While some were better than others all were entertaining to read. I had almost forgot how good they were. He is the standard i hold other authors to, and have been sadly disappointed with many of them. I will re-read them all again in the future, glad that he wrote them.

    4. Ludlum writes like a choo-choo train getting up a head of steam. Initially I was'nt sure if I'd like the book. When I thought I was getting bored the bastard trapped me once again, made me feel I better not put the book down or he would come out of his grave and beat the hell out of me. So I followed Smith and his cohorts to see where they would go. The next thing I know I'm waiting for Sophie to put him to bed,but she doesn't. By then I don't even care. New characters are introduced and darn if [...]

    5. Robin Cook was a pioneer, and remains a major figure, in the medical thriller sub-genre. In THE HADES PROJECT, Robert Ludlum has written a tale very reminiscent of Cook. Cook would have provided a little more clinical detail, but this is still very similar to much of his work. In fact, it's better than a lot of Cook's recent stuff. The similarity to Cook aside, though, this isn't one of Ludlum's best. That shouldn't be too surprising because Ludlum is listed as only a co-author along with Gayle L [...]

    6. I just finished reading the Hades Factor last night. Though I usually try to put down the books, and go to sleep before midnight, the novel kept me up until 1:30 this time.It did not take much to get caught in the story. The main characters were introduced quite promptly, and I soon got the main lines of the story. It is not the most exciting novel I have ever read, but it has a lot of action, likable characters, and a few surprising twists. Some of the negative reviews have pointed out that once [...]

    7. In our current world of greed and terror, it seems unfortunately possible for a scenario like this plot to not only exist, but to succeed. I only hope that we'll have heros like the ones in this book to save the day.
